New York: Forbes magazine has released their latest list of the 2,043 billionaires of the world and the founder of Microsoft Bill Gates is still the world’s richest man with assets valued at $86 billion.
Bill Gates has been topping this list for four consecutive years whereas in the last 23 years he has been declared the world’s richest man for 18 years which is a record.
Warren Buffett is at the second spot on this list with assets worth $75.6 billion, Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon is at the third spot with assets of $72.8 billion. Amancio Ortega, the Italian-American businessman is the fourth richest man in the world with assets worth $71.billion while founder of Facebook Mark Zuckerberg is at number five with a net worth of $56 billion.
This year people related with the technology department were the most prominent. As compared to last year 195 new people have joined the billionaire club this year. Another interesting fact this year is that 76 of the new billionaires are from China, the most from any one country.
U.S president Donald Trump is still in the list of billionaires of the world, however, his net worth has decreased by $1 billion after spending time and resources on the presidential election campaign. He has now been relegated to being the 544th richest man in the world.
The new list of billionaires include 545 Americans, the most from any nation followed by China with 319 and Germany with 114.
